Compatibility!!!

I have 2 percula clowns and a 6 line wrasse. I am planning on getting a firefish and a royal gramma. Are these fish all compatible?

If you dont believe me (I tried to tell you in your other thread), do a search and you'll see that many folks have had aggression issues with the sixline wrasse.

6 Lines can be bullies. Depending on the size of your tank will determine if there is enough room for everyone to play nicely.

A fire fish is a fairly peaceful fish and will get bullied easily. is this a repost from another thread.

I agree with the others, in a 29 gallon tank the sixline will most likely end up being a bully.

Ok thanks, i already got the six line before I posted anything so its too late now, but he seems to not bully my two perculas which are much smaller than him. If anything he is scared of others. So would the firefish and royal gramma be ok together?

JMHO, but that sounds like a lot of fish for a 29 gal. We only have 5 fish in a 55, and wont get any more until we upgrade... You should always always do your research BEFORE buying a new fish or coral (many corals are aggressive too, and can wipe out an entire tank with toxins or kill neighboring corals if your research isnt done) and shame on your LFS for not asking the proper questions and only being worried about making sale. Ours always asks what else is in the tank and how big the tank is when we are considering buying a new fish. Also, just because it isn't aggressive now doesnt mean it never will be. As it gets older and bigger and isn't the "new guy" anymore, he very well could get quite aggressive.

No, you can't have that grouping of fish. The RG and the firefish are similar in shape, and firefish are shy, which means it will lose. Then the RC will try to stand up to the sixline and it will lose. You will, in relatively short order, have a dead firefish and dead RG. The only question will be if you will have stressed the tank to the point that you have disease issues that kill one or more of the other fish.

Since you already have the clowns and six line you'll need something that can hold its own... a dottyback would work. The neon or royal would be my choice... I would only have 4 fish in a 29g.

Thanks everybody. I have decided not to get that firefish and anyways the RG looks cooler and swims cooler. Is there any other fish that would go with the 6 line ok besides the RG?

Look at post #14... Ive already tried to give you other options. The royal dottyback looks just like the royal gramma but is a little tougher. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...uiPbHKsjuIuFMg
