So after a lot of work and slow fill the tank is up and running I am currently waiting on my skimmer should be here by the end of the week. The tank has 70lbs of brs pukani dry rock and 80lbs of live sand should I start the cycle now with shrimp or wait for my skimmer and add 15lbs of live rock?

keep an eye on your P04 if you didnt cure that pukani rock. There are a number of threads on this site concerning leaching of large amounts of phosphate from pukani rock and even a thread on how to properly cure it.

75 will be enough to start the cycle but you will need more. As for the P04 and Pukani rock, this is the thread i was referencing. Pukani leaches P04 pretty bad and for a good while. Take a look at this thread.

Like Aaron said, it should clear uo in about 24-48 hours. Or, you can speed things up by getting a powerhead with a polishing filter attachment. You'll need at least one extra powerhead anyway, to mix you salt for water changes over several hours in a container for one thing. An extra powerhead is big help in the long run for a multitude of reasons, and they are not that expensive.

I used a powerhead/polishing filter, and it cleared mine in about 6 hours. Here'a before pic:

6 hours later:

my attempt to quiet up my drains and to keep them flowing steady. they were building up air in the lines and burping out the built up air every few seconds. this seems to be working well not perfectly quiet it helped my flow greatly. i am going to shorten the two stand pipes to about half the size they are now i think.
