ID Coral found hiding
i bought some live rock about a month ago to seed my rock with coralline algae. My tank has been up now for about 10 weeks. One rock really appealed to me as it was red and green. Later i found that the rock was trying to regenerate which i didn't know they could do and had it identified as a chalice so i've been watching that for 3 weeks. Today i was reading online that chalice prefer horizontal position so i thought i would re position the rock so the chalice was not on edge and found this growing... any idea what type this is?

so i guess if i've got zoas growing and a chalice trying to regenerate then my water parameters are acceptable. i've only just added a CUC this past week. like i said, my tank has been up now for 10 weeks and i've been concerned about water parameters and lighting so that to me would be a good sign.
i've got a 75g with T5x6 lighting. i've got a maxi get 900 and a koralia 750 circulating and my pump on my sump is rated at 1300 but it's been throttled back so i'm not sure how much flow there so now that i've found the zoas growing in a pocket on the side of the rock with the chalice i guess i'll have to leave it propped on its edge at an angle or will the zoas grow if i lay the rock flat and they aren't getting direct light any more? |
