Another cycling question

75 gallon up and running for about a week with 4" live sand bed. (Caribsea live oolite) Put 45 lbs of LR in 24 hrs ago and already see a ammonia spike. Should I be doing water changes already and how often should I be doing them?

Hi, I wouldn't do ANY water changes. The purpose of the cycle is to get all that beneficial bacteria in there. Let the whole cycle process happen naturally. Once you see your spikes in all your tests and everything goes back down to 0 then do your water change. But in the meantime, just sit back and be patient =-)
