Neptune Apex problem

I had my display go out on my apex controller that is less than a year old, I contacted support and was told sorry you need to send in the old one and after they examine it will then decide whether or not to replace it. So in the meantime my 10,000 dollar tank is in limbo. I am not happy with how I am being treated. I have had a few problems with my Sols from AquaIllumination's and was given replacement parts no questions asked I didn't even have to show them a receipt! I was debating whether to puchace 4 Vegas or the Radion but I will do buisness with AquaIllumination just for the better service and better warranty

Is your Apex connected to your home network, or can you connect your base unit to the ethernet port on your PC? The Apex is controlled by the base unit on the Apex Lite and Full Apex, not the display....you should still have full control and programming from a computer.

As much a PITA as sending in a problematic part....it is the norm for pretty much every company in the hobby from Tunze to Neptune to CoralVue. Also, and Im not blaming or pointing fingers here , considering the amount of many thousands we all have invested in our tanks, a backup to any of our equipment is a good idea. While it would still be a PITA, a $120 ApexJr or RK Lite (even cheaper used) could hold you over until repair happens. Same with pumps and heaters. Again, not blaming you..and I am being a hypocrite considering I have minimal backup supplies....just a good habit to be in. After $10,000...whats anohter $500 is some get-me-by stuff?

+1 to what James said. I'm not sure what Neptune charges for another head unit, but to me it would be a small price to pay.
