Python No Spill and Fill?
Has anyone used one of these to clean gravel or for water changes? It seems to use water flow at your faucet to create a vacuum on the tubing. I just want to be sure that the fresh water from the faucet can not enter the tank. Also, I want to know how good a vacuum this is for a large tank.
If this product is not for reefs or large tanks, what would be a good vacuum for gravel cleaning or water changes? I like that it has very long tubing which would be good for my situation.

I've been using them for years.
IMO the greatest way to remove water from your tank, suck all the crap from your sump etc.

The piece that attaches to the faucet has a collar that opens and closes. With the collar open it acts as a venturi and the tap water flows into the sink and draws suction in the hose to pull the saltwater from your tank. On a freshwater tank you would close the collar to refill the tank with tap water after you've taken enough out.
The system works just fine for saltwater, you just don't close the collar to fill. The screws will rust, but that's not a big deal. |
