30lb sand too much for 17gal?

LOL I was aiming for a deep sand bed look but the marine depot guy said its too much. Sand is still in separate bags.

Tank dims? usually a dsb is over four inches...

30 lbs is not too much for a 17 gallon tank.

Should be OK. Just make sure you are at 4 inches deep or a bit more. The only problem with being too deep is aesthetics.
