Using turkey baster to clean rocks a good or bad idea?

Its good , but only do about 1/4 of them and right before water change to remove some of it. And a HOB filter would really help. But how to reduce this , low water flow , overstocking with fish , overfeeding can all cause this.

I use a small powerhead and blow the detritus off ALL my rocks right before a water change. If you don't forget and do this on a regular basis, there won't be much to clean in the long run. Your tank will definitely thank you for it...

I usually will blow mine off with a turkey baster and doing it right before a water change is best.
