mysis - frozen vs. freeze dried...

Staying in india, its too difficult for me to import food due to shipping cost and imp. duties... As forzen mysis shipping is expensive, i was planning on buying freeze dried mysis along with selcon... can anyone tell me the differences? iv read many posts and some say that freeze dried is more safe and has much more left in it to feed ur fish.. my plan is to soak frozen in some tank water and selcon and plankton for 24hrs then feed the fishes twice a week.. currently feeding cyclopeeze flakes and formula 2..

I think that dried is better to be honest. Usually a bit cleaner with more protein for the size. However getting fish to eat it can be difficult. Give it a try. Also flake food is really good stuff, if you can get your fish to eat it then don't be afraid to use it. In my tank (12 year old and going well), flake is my primary food, and the frozen stuff is just a treat.

Why not make your own frozen food? A trip to the seafood market, a blender and some baggies and you are ready. I have added Cyclopeze, Nori and a wide variety of fresh seafood. Take a 1/4 of the fresh ingredients and puree it, this is for the filter feeders and sps, and the rest is chopped finely enough for the fish. It is cheap, easy and works very well. For about 40 to 50 bucks you can make a years supply.
