can 2 smallers skimmers preform like 1 larger skimmer?

I have a reef octopus extreme 200 which is good for a 225 mod. stocked tank.
I have a good deal on another on for $150.
My system will be 400gals total volume.
Should I just add the second one or sell my first and get a larger skimmer. Price IS an issue.
Thanks
Derek

Might as well sell it and buy a larger skimmer. With 2 skimmers, you will need 2 pumps. That's just extra on the electrical bill and possibly more heat transfer to your tank.

Don't think a second 30 watt pump is going to cost much money to operate each month nor would it add that much heat to a large system but you said price is one.

$150 vs. $400 out of pocket to skim your system.

You already have one of the skimmers and know how well it works. Why not give it a try and if the system is too large you could sell the second skimmer for $125.
