Lights came on and look who I caught out and about

My decorator crab! I thought this guy was dead, I hadn't seen him in months. I grabbed my iPad real quick and got a little video of him. If you look closely you'll Kenya trees all over him. if he keeps them cleaned up I like him better than I thought.

Here, let me help you:

Click the picture to see the video.

You need to use the special IMG tag that photobucket provides. Copying the photobucket link inside IMG tags does not work.

That is a cool looking crab by the way.

I had one named Mr. Snipets until I watched a Fire Fish try to hide in him and get decapitated and eaten.

I know why it disappeared!

It took that long to finish decorating the new shell!

When I bought him he was covered with some kind of seaweed stood vertically from where it was connected to the shell like streamers. But not long after his introduction to the tank the tang chewed every bit of it off. It was funny watching the tang actually pick the crab up for a little ride trying to rip a chunk off. The crab finally had to rebuild with stuff laying around. So far I see zoos, Kenya trees, and pineapple sponges. Just wish he'd come out during the day.

Really Cool.

I was waiting for it to transform into a submarine or a fish.

If you want to see him more often rubberband a piece of clam to a rock and toss it in after dark. It won't take very long for him to show up.

It's no wonder you hadn't seen him, he's practically invisible! Very cool video, my 7 yr old now wants one after I showed him this!

Ha funny!! They actually don't seem to mind him the few times I've caught him out. In fact I have a video on my phone of my engineer goby coming out to take a bite of him. I think the goby saw the "moving zoos" as food but quickly realized it wasn't. It scared the crab though, he's rather timid.

Yup. I have a good size shell I use for that stuff. Crabs and snails need food to.

I am sure he would be happy with a good size meal.
