Dead Live Rock?

I have some live rock in my basement that hasn't been in the water for years. What is the process to bring rock back to life? and about how long does it take? Deciding if I want to get that rock brewing, or if I should just buy new rock.

What you should do is take it to a manual car wash and hose it down and then rinse it with spot free shine (thats RO water) and you are good to go
seed with some new live rock and over about 3-6 months it will come back

That being said, also, I would soak them in ro water if possible for at least 2 days, I just got some BRS rocks that has a lot of phosphate in them. Not saying that your rock will have phosphate but, a test may always be good.
