Ghill13's 150G Reef Tank Build
Hi this is my first reef tank I have had a few tropical and brackish tanks before but have always wanted a marine tank.
The main base for my tank was that I wanted something around 48x24x24 but then I saw a lovely tank on ebay which was bigger and a lot cheaper than my planed new tank. I got it for a bargain so now I have a 60x24x24 which gives me a bit more room to play. I am also on a bit of a budget so this given me a bit more to spend on other things. I also love tech so of course it has to have some cool techy stuff so my plan is getting 2 Ecotech Radians Pros and later on getting an extra one if needed. I am also going for 2 Ecotech mp40s as I have heard and seen that they are very good. I also plan later on in getting one of the Neptune System to control the tank as I have heard they are working on a UK compatible version. Heres some pics of the tank that I have just started cleaning it out. I have also found that the weirs are different to many of the standard designs it has a glass box and then the acrylic screen separate so that if your pump stops the water goes down a bit but then hits the glass and docent let any more water into your sump. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And here is a pic of the sump I might get a bigger one later on ![]() Here is my plumbing Plan just waiting for the parts to arrive. ![]() I have also got my protein skimmer today it is the RDC-850 ![]() ![]() ![]() More Coming Soon |
