I like the look. I started the same way about 2 years ago, and about $3,000 more in money. LOL Do you know what you levels are? You coral don't look happy...your xenia should be waving and pulsing. maybe you just moved stuff around.

To be honest, I think they are camera shy. Only time they suck up like that is if I pull camera out our it's lights out time. Lol.

All levels are good, except sg, which I'm slowly bringing down.

Is the difference between pic 2 and 3 just evaporation? If so you have some serious maintenance issues!

Evaporation and a hob that decided to grace my terrazzo floors with a gift of water spewing out of the back.

happened to mine, my hob splashed water onto my light legs and then traveled down the tank to the stand where my stand now has bubbles in it. i am now adding a sup so i hope that problem is finally resolved. i have a twenty gallon high too, looks kind of like yours buti have my water level all the way to the top because IMO it looks better. good luck with your set up.

How fast does your Xenia grow? I've really been tempted to get some, but one of the LFS employees who seems to shoot it straight with me, said it would grow so fast that it would take over my tank. They look really cool, but I'm scared of a takeover.

Let's just say, the last pic was half as tall and half as many stalks a month ago. the other picture they almost tripled. And I have a random stalk popping up here and there.

But it's far from taking over so far and a lot of fun to watch pulsing.

I would avoid corals like Xenia, Colts and Kenya trees unless you have a lot of rock room. Here's a shot of mine from one year ago and now.

Now

Tank looks great.

As for the xenia question...if you get them, isolate them to a rock somewhere surrounded by sand, and not close enough for them to jump the gap...works for me. But they grow extremely fast in my tank. If you can find someone local that has them, I'm sure they would share some and save you the money. I give them away all the time just to thin them out.
