Anyone used Live Rock Ranch? If so I would love to hear opinions.
I'm getting close to ordering my live rock and I am considering a few options and live rock ranch is one of them. Their prices seem pretty good and I am interested to hear what anyone thinks of it. If this has already been discussed I apologize for being repetitive.

Found info online
After posting this I did a little research. Needless to say this company appears to be a fraud. I have talked to my lfs and they are goin to make me a deal on live rock. At least I can pick all the pieces myself.

I have a local reef club in my area. There have been many ads placed where reefers are either selling or looking for live rock. They go for $1-$2 a pound. Very inexpensive way to find rock. Do you have a local club to post on? It's the way to go.

Stay away from the ranch, the owner Roger screwed me over and a lot of others. I agree that you should always buy your rock locally if possible. It's a good idea to pick it out that way not only do you get what you want but you can see what's on it. I still laugh when I think about how I paid 200 bucks for crappy bowling ball rocks.

If you want rock like that, Tampa Bay Saltwater is the place to get it.
Richard is awesome and nothing beats his rock. Go for The Package and you won't be disappointed. Check my current build thread of my old 130 cube build thread for lots of pics. FWIW, your lfs live rock will most likely be more like "mostly dead" rock. Which is fine for some folks, just depends what you are looking for.

I went with the BRS dry rock, pukani, fiji, branch mix. I've seen many build threads with people that used the tampa bay and they were all very happy.

Ahem...nothing? ![]() JK. yeah, it seems for whats available on a retail basis, his stuff looks the best. the chain of custody to get rock from somewhere remote like tonga/fiji/vanatau etc is loooooong. Florida is a much better option for fresh rock.
