Painting RO Canisters?
I recently traded for a RO/DI unit and installed it on my covered porch using outside faucet as a supply. After installing I didn't use for a couple of weeks as I was setting up a new tank. When I went to use it the canister were green. My guess is the indirect sunlight allowed algae to grow inside the canisters. My questing is if I paint the canisters black to eliminate the algae and are there any downsides to painting? I have a dual TDS meter so I can monitor the outflow without visual seeing the containers.

I like being able to see my filters, but if there's light available then there will be algae. There's surely no harm in covering them up. You can either paint them or cover them with something opaque or build a little box for the whole unit to sit in.
