The bacteria population cannot handle the load this quickly causing a buildup of ammonia, which will cause another spike in Nitrite and Nitrates as you would expect. I would do an immediate water change. Probably in the 30-40% range if you able too. Also, buying some ammonia binding solution like amquel plus will help. Your PH and Nitrite and Nitrate are fine. But the latter two will spike if you don't get that ammonia under control thus starting another cycle. Remember, ammonia at any detectable level is harmful to fish. At 0.1 ppm you can kill some fish. Most fish will show signs of stress at that level. |
