Nice setup. Are you running something to control the flow on the closed loop?

yes the closed loop has multiple shut off valves to control the flow going back to the aquarium from the pump and going to the pump from the aquarium basically we have shut off valves everywhere for cleaning the plumbing every month or so and being military it is easier to have everything be able to come apart to move around the country anyways any other questions just let know

well the tank is cycled but we don't want to add anything just yet because we are going to be taking a vacation during xmas and going to be gone for two weeks and having a friend who's not knowledgable with saltwater tanks or any fish for that matter so we are going to wait til we get back to start the actual stocking but we plan on having a couple bangai cardinals, a mated pair of clowns, a yellow tang, powder blue tang, starry blenny, blue chromis, rabbit foxface and lots of coral lol

Unions are my friends as well due to being military and knowing i'll be moving/deploying. Plumbing is a pain but it was one of the most enjoyable things i've done so far just because i know I added pieces to make my life and moving easier later on.
Your tank looks pretty good and I have the same size. I'll be on leave till after christmas so I should be stocking my tank about the same time as ya'll. I'll be using yours for some ideas.

quick update: I changed the rock work around just a little bit and we added a starry blenny, diamond goby, sand sifter star, and some clean up crew. No fish yet waiting till we get back from louisiana. Also got a few new coral like green mushrooms, some hammerheads. Also did first water change about a week ago everything doing good and happy.

rock work is good now lots of room but also hiding spaces. Yeah beer bottles (glass). they are coated with a sealant, so reef safe. Drilling the rock was a pain in the butt though and messy but worth it
