lighting advice

Just starting out and i need advice on what type of lighting system i should buy. Medal Halidies my not be an option because i cant afford a chiller. I want to be able to keep all types of coral and anemones. Any advise is helpful. Thanks

the two well known and pricey led systems in the market are AI Vegas or Sols or Radion.

Design of the lighting system controls whether or not the halides will affect the temperature of the tank. You can see mine in my blog. It doesn't change the tanks temp at all.

i just added a halide and i have it on for 5 hours a day, then 2 T5s for another couple hours. i only notice a little temp change throughout the day. As long as you dont put the light too close to the water or leave it on for an extended period of time, you should be ok

Check out ecoxotic panorama pro LEDs. They r modular meaning you can buy one, add to canopy, and add more as you go. I have them and love them.

Hmmmm only halide and LEDs??? You people are missing one. T5s. Not expensive like LEDs and no heat issues like halides do. And the cost is minimal to start with T5s.
