Aouto shut off

I installed an Auto Shut Off valve as per the instructions found on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssa6njb5nV4. I don't seem to be getting any water in my sump. The only difference is the outflow from the Membrane goes to the auto shut off then the DI before going to the sump. Could this make the difference?

According to the instructions, That does not look right at all. It does work? Stops all Flow when Float valve is closed?

Yeah fishgate that setup is definitely different. It looks like you have one side of your aso to your clean water then the other side is coming from your second chamber?? I have mine setup just like op, doesn't matter that it's in between that's how I have mine. Fishgate how does your wastewater shut down? American is the aso new or used? I have had them go bad. Can you post a pic how you have it piped.

I followed the instruction exactly for mine and it works 100%. It shuts down the water supply after the 2nd stage. Waste water shuts down since the supply to the membrane is shut down.

Mine is set up exactly like the video posted by the OP. The video is confusing in that the red line that he cuts is NOT the waste water line, it is the supply line from the last carbon block into the membrane. The same as the yellow line in my picture.

sosharotti, the valve is brand new. Do You have any idea how to check it? As for fishgate, I think we just can't see it all so it looks confusing. Not to mention subtle differences between units. Do You have a DI on top? I also have it done exactly the way the vid show but that puts it into the DI. It could just be the valve. HOW DO YOU ADD PICS?

Here - I've labeled it all... Also - you must install the square shutoff switch in the correct side. One side will shut it off, one lets it run. If you installed that switch backwards, that could be your issue!

I Figured it out by taking apart the old valve and looking at exactly how it works. In the video The guy says to make sure the screws are facing towards You. That would work if my unit was the same. My lines over under run opposite the one he was working on due to the 5th and 6th stage. To answer My original Question is YES it is ok to run the DI after the Switch. Which also means fishgates setup is also correct. Thank For all Your Help. By the way I also found a URL to my exact unit. Mine is th RD-102 http://www.watergeneral.com/support/pdf/RD102.pdf This shows my unit with proper hook up for sasharotti.

I would still like to know how to post pics, especially how to add instructions like fishgates previous pic.

The best way is to host your picture somewhere on the web, but you also can attach it to your post, and then reference it in the post.

For method #1, find a hosting site and upload the picture. Once uploaded, view the picture and copy the URL that references it. Click the picture icon on the "advanced" editing screen - it looks like a yellow box with mountains and a sun. This will bring up a dialogue to paste your URL from the picture. Paste it in and click ok.

For method #2, click the paperclip icon also on the "advanced" editing screen. That will bring an upload app to upload your picture. Go through that process. Once done your picture will appear in that app. Click it and copy the URL of the picture that will come up. The do the same as step #1 for posting the picture to your reply.

BTW: The way I added the instructions was to take the previous picture and edit it in a photo-editing application like Photoshop. I use the app "Fireworks". I simple add a bunch of text boxes and lines to the picture and re-save it, re-upload it, and post it again.
