Smile Need advice

Hello everyone,

My name is Tasso and i am new to this site and to this hobby! I tried setting up a Saltwater tank (fish only) about 12 years ago but it did not go very well and gave up. Anyhow, i am trying to get back into this hobby and would like to do things right this time.
I have found a nice 180 gallon tank for sale and it includes everything i need supposedly. I am llisting here what is included with this tank and I would like some advice if it would be a good purchase. The purchase would include the following:
180G All Glass Tank with Dual water returns (72"Wx24"Dx24"H)
Custom made stand that doubles as storage for all the necessary tank components (black, 73"Wx25"Dx40"H) lined in plexiglass
Built in electrical
Full sump system
AquaPro Filtration tank
AquaPro Skimmer
Return pumps
UV Filter - Coralife - Large one
Koralia - mixed sizes to move water in the tank (3 large, 2 med, 2 small)
Fully integrate light system - Halides, Compacts
In water heater
All testing kits, chemical I have left over
RO Unit - approx. 30 GPD output
2 Nano Cubes for breeding, medicine or acclimating fish)
8 Gallon - with lights
20 Gallon - with lights
***
What are some of the questions you would ask? Would it be wise to get all this or should i just strart by getting the tank itself only and build my way up. I would like to add a Neptune Apex controller to my system, will this setup accommodate that? This is an amazing site and i have been reading and reading for days. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions!

I guess that would depend on the price for all. Probably one thing I would ask the seller how old are the bulbs and ballast, and does he offer some kind of warranty that everything works?

The seller is asking 1200$ and claims to have paid $6000 originally. Per the seller all was working fine when the tank was decommissioned 3 weeks ago. I will ask about the bulbs.

Here are a couple of pics of the 180Gl tank in question. I'm still waiting to find out the age of the equipment. Will the Neptune Apex controller work with this setup?

Wow that's a nice looking tank. Good deal especially w/ all the extras that's going w/ it. It's a good starting base. What does the sump look like and how large is it? You might also want to try a better skimmer, because i've never heard of aqua pro. Also, a controller is always nice to have on any system.

seems like a good deal to me. You may not have thought anything about the height of the stand but I would take a few minutes to think about it. I had a stand that was that tall and it was great for standing and viewing the tank, but while sitting it was a bit of a pain. The main problem I had was that the glass was always the dirtiest closest to the sand and when viewing the tank while sitting my eyes were always drawn to that part. While standing it was amazing, felt like i was "in" the tank.
