Whats beating up my Helfrich's Firefish?! And Parasite on my other Firefish?
I think its a parasite but I have Cleaner shrimp for that! And also will probably try to catch him tomorrow and DI dip him if it is.. It looks different in the pictures, but basically looks like its pooping out from its gill... It eats and acts normal! So I'm not sure.. And also my Helfrich's Firefish had PERFECT FINS but now something is tearing it up! I'll list what I have in my Biocube 29 HQI. But during the day nothing seems to mess with them.. And also.. What is this purple thing on my rock??
~Various Corals~ ~Various Snails~ ~Rose Bubble Tip that split~ ~Pair of Black Ice Clownfish~ (They don't mess with any Firefish) ~Firefish x 2~ ~Helfrich's Firefish~ ~Sea Hare~ ~Tiger Cucumber~ ~Cleaner Shrimp~ ~Peppermint Shrimp x 2~ Last edited by Hiruki; 12/04/2012 at 08:09 PM. I've seen that parasite on a purple firefish before. Idk what it is, but it fell off after a few weeks. Small fish don't let cleaner shrimp clean them so if that's what you got him for, sorry to break it to you, he'll never clean your fish. As for the helfrichi, your other firefish are beating him up. Firefish don't get along with other firefish, except for in the case of male/female pairs. The helfrichi will likely be killed within the next couple months if you don't remove either him, or the other two firefish. Idk what the purple thing is. You'll need to get a better pic.

Thank you, I moved the bigger firefish with the parasite over to my 14 biocube, to quarantine it and it seems like the smaller firefish and hellfrichs have paired up. And the purple thing has moved.. So I cant find it anymore haha.

My firefish will let my neon goby nibble off him. But I think that's more just dead scales than actual parasites.
