Refugium Question
I just recently added a refugium to my sump tank and I had a question about what you all thought about adding a loofah instead of algae to house the little critters in my tank. I currently have two mangroves in place, but I am a little worried about adding cheato as well. My LFS recommended adding a loofah to house the pods living in my tank. Do you guys think this is a good idea?

If the bug population is your main concern, I think you would be better off adding one of those Aquaclear foam pads as opposed to a loofah to shelter your pods. You'll have to ring it out every now & then, but that's no big deal. Chaeto would really be no different.

Maybe he doesn't want the chaeto outcompeting the mangroves.
A loofah would work fine, or as said even a filter pad or floss. All would have to be cleaned periodically, though.
