Basement sump plumbing question-noise
I have a 150gal with two overflows with two standpipes in them. The water flowing through the left stand pipe is basically silent. The water through the right standpipe is like niagra falls.
There is one main difference between the two of them. The left standpipe, the silent one, goes in a straight lint right to the water level of the sump where it takes a 90 degree angle with a tee on the end to minimize microbubbles. This stand pipe is fine. The right one, the problem one, takes a 45 angle about 1 foot below the tank and then another 45 about 1 foot after that. I had to do this to avoid hitting a joist while drilling through my floor. It then takes another 45 degree angle to get it in the sump. Are the the two 45's right under the tank really doing this? Besides the angles these things are identical. Could there be something else? I am thinking about cutting the right side plumbing above the first 45 and replacing it all with black spaflex. Well this help with the noise? Thanks for any advice.

I had one side that was just a little longer going into the sump and it was quite a bit louder. I shortened it up and the problem was solved.

When I initially set mine up I had to use 45's too and it was very noisy. I switched up to spaflex and its silent now. Quite a bit more expensive than ridgid bit well worth how quiet ot made the drain.

Thanks a lot. I am going to switch to spa flex because I have about ten feet laying around. I didn't think two 45's would make that much difference.
