ID please
Is this a ball anenome? This is in my new tank, and came on my live rock. I have a fish only tank at this time, and I really like this little guy, just want to know what he is.
Thanks in advance for any advice/help... |

Oh< I think that's what it is!!! :-) So it's not an anenome at all? So many new and wonderful things with this tank, I'm LOVING this! I barely even watch TV anymore, I spend all my time looking at my piece of the ocean in my living room!

Aptasia are pest and the sooner you can remove it from your tank the better.
Thet reproduce like crazy and some folks have had them so bad they needed to break down their tanks and start over. They sting coral and grow everywhere. Wait for a second opinion first. But,I'm pretty sure you have a glass anemone(aptasia) there. They sell stuff at the local pet stores to kill them called aptasiaX.

I think it might be a hidden cup coral as well.

I have looked and looked at pictures of aptaisia and I don't think that's what it is. I think that it looks more like a cup coral, now that I have seen pictures online! I just didn't know what else to look under. Aptasia have a stem like thing and this doesn't - it's flat against the rock and doesn't move anywhere. Thanks for all the help and the welcomes.
