Skimmer randomly overflowing. Need help

So I got a new bubble Magnus skimmer with a psk 2500 pump and the upgraded red mesh impeller. All was fine and dandy except it randomly overflows. 3 times now. So basically it's useless. I dialed it way back to the max and it was running at water level all day. Then bam an hour ago for no reason it shoots up and overflows. Venturi intake has no salt creep. Skimmer was totally cleaned when it did it. Any ideas anyone?

How new is it? It takes a week or two to settle in. During that time it might even overflow. You'll think you have it set and in an hour or two it can overflow. This isn't unheard of and it doesn't make the skimmer worthless. Also, how high is the water level in the skimmer compartment? Is it a constant level?

Did you add any chemicals to the system? Many of the algae treatment will have this affect on skimmers.

Water level is constant. Only thing is that my dosers do alk. The skimmer it replaced never had any issues with the dosing. It's not a new skimmer I bought it used. But it was super cleaned

Only other thing I can think if us that my return hose feeds some bubbles into the skimmer intake. Wasn't a prob for the last skimmer though

I think you give it some time to break in, if it was clean really well you start over. It needs to build up a layer of gunk.

If it's been thoroughly cleaned it will need to break in again. Give it time. If you're concerned with the drain bubbles getting into the skimmer then put a filter sock at the end.
