I broke one of my MP40's!

So, last night while cleaning the glass I bumped the dryside of one of my MP40's. It did not fall but it moved. At first I thought it was just not aligned, lots of rumbling, but I just could not get it to stop vibrating. I could see it was not spinning very fast so I went to turn it off. Before I could get to the controller it gave me the "fail error" flashing red/green.
I had noticed a few weeks ago that the dryside seemed to be "struggling" while ramping up and down, more of a hard torque than just the regular motor sounds. I also think it was not spinning as fast as the other was while in feed mode, so maybe it was going to happen anyway.

I unplugged it, took the wet side out and found the propeller was loose, but not able to spin freely. When I took the grill off a few pieces of broken plastic fell out...never a good thing.
Found that the wet frame was broken where the bearing fits into the slot.
The propeller, screw, shaft, bearing, magnet and washer were all in good shape. So I ordered a new wet frame for $10 and a new grill for $10 (had a broken part).
Less than $30 with shipping....fingers crossed....
This is not a defect of the MP40, I bought it used and I believe this was my fault that it broke.

Should get here by the end of the week. I will update here once installed.

Ive had the same problem. Once you've replaced the wet frame section, it will be working fine again.

You'd think for $2500 it would come with a lifetime guarantee!

Aren't those things like $2000 or $3000? And like $6000 or $7000 for the big ones?

I guess some dont understand sarcasm. After you replace a couple of wet sides they are close to 3000

I went thru two wet sides in less than 2 yrs. You think for that price they should last longer.

Whenever I had a problem with the wetside I've always gotten a free replacement part from ecotech. Just don't break the dryside

Good news!
I finally got the parts from EcoTech. I replaced the wet side frame, and new grill as well.
Not only does it work, but it is very, very quiet too. It was a bit loud before. I had planned on changing the dry side bearings, thinking that would fix the noise issue. Glad I did not tear into the dry side.
So, for about $30, including a new grill, my MP40 is back in service!
