I assume he died on his own, but they ate all but the end if it's tail, I couldn't get it out I was at work. Is that ok???

You'll be fine Da'Linda
I watched my sixline wrasse devour my two peppermint shrimp right before my eyes, lesson learned!

How big is your six line? They are known to kill and eat shrimp. The crabs probably were more than happy to help clean it up also.

On the off chance that it was not killed by the wrasse, it should be fine.

I recently purchased 5 peppermint shrimp hoping that they would help with aptasia. I figured they would be safe in my tank since I have a cleaner shrimp that nobody bothers.
As soon as I introduced them to my tank they were all eaten whole! My royal gramma got one, collettes basslet got another, neon dotyback had one, 6 line had one, and the hawkfish finished off the last. Your fish will be fine if they had a little shrimp snack.

Ugh, ok... My wrasse is about the same size as the shrimp, the other one is still ok, been in there a week, so I don't know.

You should have put them in the tank at lights out. That gives the shrimp a chance to find a good hiding spot. Peppermint Shrimp are nocturnal by nature. Past midnight is usually when I see mine out. And past midnight is when I catch them at the Port Aransas Jetties too.
Enjoy..... http://youtu.be/7shgxFeFUsI http://youtu.be/f3mO2tXv9NE

Are you sure it wasn't just a molt you found? Shrimps are very good at hiding, especially just after molting.

Well the breath should be better now at least.
I have not had any problems with mine getting picked on at all.
