Coralvue lumen bright all in one

I'm searching for any reviews anyone might have on this fixture. http://www.aquacave.com/Lumen-Bright...P3366C217.aspx

I really like the fact that it used lumen bright reflectors, but my main concern is that the fan in the fixture would not provide sufficient cooling.

I am going without a canopy, so a unit like this would be perfect for my application.

I think at 60" you'll have to hang this pretty high to get good coverage. What do you plan on having in the tank?

The problem with that unit is the single ballast.

"All electronics are external to the fixture and contained within a simple component box."

If you were to have a problem with one of the halide ballasts or one of the T5 ballasts, you would have to send the entire ballast box in to be fixed. Then, your tank would be completely out of light until it gets back.

I'm aware that this is an old post. I bought this fixture as fixture only, no ballast. Anyone know where I might buy a ballast enclosure? Apparently coralvue has discontinued this fixture.

Still looking for a ballast assembly. Where can I get one?

Bump to top.

If coralvue can't get one for you, you may be left with buying individual ballast and rewiring it yourself? Hope you find one. Maybe Coralvue can provide you with a wiring diagram so you do not have to tear the fixture apart.
