Grrrrrrrrr....

Im frustrated to say the least...for weeks now ive been battling something stupid in my system. i cant get all this floating debri out of the water column. theres a slight cloudiness to the water also, but up close you can see lil particles in the water. so i check the sump also to see if its the return pump producing micro bubbles in the main display, but its lil particles throughout the whole system. would make sense why the tank looks cloudy, just changed my GFO and carbon about week and a half ago or so? haha kinda dont remember how long it was now.hmm.. anyway,,i positioned the power heads to face the overflows in hopes of sending everything towards the overflows and replace filter sock as often as possible. also turned my skimmer up to wet skim a lil more.... any suggestions on how to remove the particles???

Hows the surface skimming? I see you positioned your PHs but is there actually a "fall" of water into the overflows, or is the water level in the overflow at a similar height as the display portion of the tank? I once raised my standpipe to reduce waterfall noise and while that worked to quiet the noise, surface skimming was not as effective. It didn't take long to build up scum on the water surface which was getting churned into my water column by the PH flow. Once I lowered the standpipe a little, the tank cleared up.

seems ok to be honest....the tank is so ever slighlty off level, to where the right drain does have a higher water line on the drain teeth as appossed to the other side, but both drains produce a good amount of water down to the sump. for some reason it just stays suspended in the water....but what baffles me is how come there is debri in the sump also??? and this is with filter socks!!!

also to add in there, they are the stock standpipes that came with the tank. so i figured there set at the correct height to begin with....
