lighting opinion

A friend gave me these hamilton 5500k plus 175 watt bulbs.they are super bright.Im thinking about using these bulbs with 4 uri super actinic vho bulbs.I had to send my ballasy back to ice cap so Ill get picks when I get the ballast back.

I'm pretty sure that 5500k are fpr plants

so a 5500k wont work for coral.

Hey, not too long ago 6500k halides was all that was really available and using actinics will give it a decent look, bright and whitish looking with a lot of fluorescence.

If you like it that's all that matters, people used combos like that for a long time before the blue halides like radium, Phoenix and others came about.

I'm sure you will have good growth & a natural lagoon color with plenty of flourescece.

Maybe try 10k XM halides next time if your ballast is compatable with the XM bulbs, if you like the look you have now.
