I love mine. Best money I have spent on my tank since my Razor. I have the R6-I running on my 40 breeder and it is quiet, easy to clean, easy to set, and it pulls nasty gunk very well. Here is a pic after a week:

I know the pump is controllable, so how high do you have the pump running?

I'm looking at the R8i for a 130 gallon thank. Is that big enough or should I go to the r10?

I am running mine at 4, there are 6 speeds. I have found the the feed mode is actually pretty usable. I use it when I clean, it's nice it goes right back to skimming when it comes back on. I would think the 8 would be plenty but if you have the room and I higher load the 10 might be a better choice. Plus if you ever go bigger you are set. If you look at my thread I started on mine, the rep from Rlss joined the conversation and he is great about answering questions. Here is a link

The dc3000 was discontinued but I'm not sure about the 5000 and up. I know Drea said his was coming with a different pump but Salty supply still says dc3000 so I'm not sure. If you email Adam and ask he is good about getting back to you.

I have the 8 and it is comparable to similar sized deltec or vertex.

It is quieter than the deltec.

It is the best bang for buck available at the moment IMHO.

The present DC3000/5000/10000 have been discontinued, the new pumps will be rolling out later this spring. All of our skimmers will be outfitted with the Waveline DC4000/6000/12000 shortly after the new pumps launch. Let me know if you've got any questions about our line of skimmers !

Only question would be a estimate of when new version will be released.

I have the R8-I works great. "Dead silent" I mean its DEAD Silent. I have had it running about 8 months now and the power supply just gave out 2 days ago.
I Called RLSS in Canada great customer support my new pump is on the way.
They decided to replace Pump, controller, and power supply. Even though it was obvious the power supply was the problem.
Not talking bad at all about this skimmer.
Even though it is broken at the moment, I am very happy I chose this skimmer!

We haven't provided anyone with a firm date yet, however we are on track for our Spring 2013 release.

Thanks
