Nextreef MR1 and Tim's Pearls

Got a new MR1 package with pump to run Tim's Pearls through. The little pump that came with it was clearly inadequate. Replaced with a MJ1200, and it worked well for a while, but now after break in (about 8 weeks) the pearls are clumping together. Do I need an even larger pump? Is the reactor just not designed for this particular media? Does it really matter as long as water is flowing through the reactor? Just making sure I shouldn't be doing something different.

The pearls are like bio pellets right? If so, which mr1 do you have? The regular mr1's are designed for carbon and gfo. The smr1 is for biopellets. Maybe that could be the issue?

Did you soak them for 24 hours prior to introducing them. I put a small curved magnet in my reactor and just turn the magnet when they would clump.
