odd creatures in tank

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YO_NLXgg0U

I woke up and my tank was full of these little guys. All rock and sand was dry (baked at 500 degrees for 3 hours as well) and i only have 6 hermits, 1 turbo snail and a pistol shrimp in the tank. What could they be?

They're zooplankton of some variety, hard to tell exactly what from the video. They could've been introduced with any of the invertabrates, but my bet is that your pistol shrimp was carrying eggs (at least if it was a recent aquisition).

The pistol shrimp has been in the tank for a few months (maybe 4-5). My guess is they don't carry eggs that long? The hermit crabs and the mexican turbo snails are recent additions. Do you think they had some eggs on them?
