It changes from red to florescent orange depending on if its in the light. Never saw one online with all three colors striped on the fins like that, the picture really does not do the colors justice. Doesnt look black on the end, more of a deep purple, and the fins are orange, wrapped in purple, with yellow tips, and blue eyes I am in love

I almost got the purple firefish but decided to go with the Helfrichi. He is very active and colorful.

Been trying all night to get a good picture
He scoped out a hiding place after i added him, but immediatly began feeding from a nearby water collum and has not gone back into hiding since! It took 4 hours before he ventured out of the corner and met my pair of oc. clowns, he wasn't to sure about them! Went back to his corner but didn't hide, came out a few more times, then the male clown decieded to go check him out and it spooked him a bit, but he was right back out again! Very happy with my purchase |

My firefish is a little scaredy fish. She is afraid of my Tang, but doesn't seem to mind my Clown or Banggai Cardinals. She hides most of the time in her hole, but does come out for food and randomly throughout the day. I wish she was out more often because they truly are beautiful fish.

Honestly I prefer the run-of-the-mill red firefish to the purple or Helfrichi versions, but to each their own I suppose.
Mine dominates my cube. It goes into hiding at night but is out and about literally all day. If only the Yasha goby would be so social...
