Exclamation !!HELP!! sick fish!

Hi! I'd greatly appreciate any help!

I have a 6 gal (i know that's not an optimal size) SW tank with 2 Ocellaris Clown fish, a Peppermint Shrimp, and some Live Rock. My tank has been successful since July of 2011. I've noticed last night that the smaller clown of the two wasn't eating, and I figured that I'd check up on it in the morning, just to find out that it's oddly behaving. It's rapidly breathing, swimming vertically in one spot at a time (trying to swim very minimally), and it's swimming in very odd patterns (thrusting, shaking, running into things, floating around).

A while back I noticed what I believed to be Ich and I tried treating it but it apparently didn't work (some other disease?). Now, though, it's white stripe on the tail is a bruise color, and there's a partial strip on it's middle stripe that seems "bruised" a well (is it spreading?). I tried to research, but I couldn't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Post a picture if you can. It will probably help with diagnosis.

Looks like some sort of bacterial infection. Others more knowledgeable here can confirm.

Would a bacterial infection explain its odd behavior? And can it spread? How can I properly diagnose and treat it?

likely brook, a clown disease. GO to the fish disease forum and read the stickies; also google brooklynella.

I just lost my clown today, what should I do now? My other clown shows no sign of any sickness; i don't want to treat it with meds if it doesn't have anything, but i also don't want any diseases to show up again.

im not positive what he had, some sort of bacterial infection, but i noticed abdominal swelling and possibly popeye as well. he also swam around less and less over the hours. assuming it was either brooklynella or marine velvet, it was a rapid killer- i noticed its odd behavior and discoloration 4 days ago, and i caught on near the end stages of this disease.

my female clown that's left has what seems to be damage from possibly hitting/scraping against something in the tank on her head (like scales came off or something) this couldnt possibly be a sign of any kind of sickness?

I'd say withdraw her to qt and treat for bacterial infection---if she's lost scales. This is not parasitic, I think. Were these tank-bred or wild caught?

I believe they were tank-bred.

What kind of bacterial medication would you suggest? Or maybe a general medicine that helps boost immunity to disease?

Start using Selcon, it will help keep you fish healthy. Also make sure the water temp doesn't rise to high, that will increase their illness.

If u don't see any signs of illness, and your fish is acting normal then let it be. Feed it at least twice a day with Selcon. My flame angel had ich, then Popeye, I increase the feeding to 3 times a day, and now he's back to normal.
