Hermit crab done gon' cray cray

He has to be the one. The emerald crab is fat and happy eating all of the algae around the LR. I see the hermit crab on the substrate more.

So far: 3 Florida Neriths and 3 Nerites. The only shell he kept was his first kill: the one large FL Nerith.

Should I just leave the bastid in there and let nature take it's course or send in SEAL TEAM R CENTRAL and take him out?

If you put hermits into a new environment WITH snails, but don't provide the hermits empty shells for them to change to (they often molt when in a new tank) ---they will quite naturally take a shell, if that's their only recourse. If you just get some proper shells (this one apparently likes cerith shells, which are popular with hermits) you will not likely have this kind of problem.

ALSO Put your hermit in time out for a month. Bring it down to the sump.

Nothing else changed to make the algae go down and him/snails look for different food is there?

The seals will make a mess and there will be lots of barking too, btw.
