Ecotech Vortech Question

So I've had Vortechs for a while now, I've had all 3 wireless ES MP10, MP40 and MP60. Right now I have the MP60s and thinking of getting an MP40 for the back of my tank. My question is, and may sound like a stupid question, but is there any reason as to why Ecotech wants people to have the wire face up and hold it with a wire holder rather than simply let it hang down?

For one, it offers an anchor point in case it falls. Less stress on the the point where the wire enters the dry-side.

The wire facing up will hold the dry side in place if the magnet fails. Magnet failure is not exactly uncommon either - it's happened to me before.

If it were facing down or on the side, or just loose, the dry side will swing and hit something or fall to the ground. You risk damaging the pump or your tank.

Thanks for the clarification guys. That makes a lot of sense, I was thinking more along the lines of asthetics but equipment safety is much more important. Knock on wood, I've never had magnet failure before that's why I never thought of that

What everyone has pointed out already, is to prevent the dry side from falling down and being damaged. I had it happen twice, once to each of my mp40 and glad that I followed instructions to keep the wire going up rather than just dangling downwards.
