Quieter overflow plumbing question

My overflow right now is a loc-line going up at an angle. And I'm getting a lot of vibration passing through it and making my canopy vibrate. If instead I make an elbow shape using some clear tubing would it make it more silent? It would be a 1" tube with approximately 2400 gph passing through it. I can draw some pictures if my description is bad.
