Fish stocking
Well, im new to saltwater. Been with fresh for 10 years.
I have a 44 gallon tank with live sand and live rock. I am running a protein skimmer and fluval 206 canister (i would love to run a sump, but cant fit one in the stand). My stocking list is... 1 ocellaris clown 2 green chromis 2 female blue damsels 1 coral banded shrimp 1 condylactis anemone There is 0 aggression in the tank. Im pretty sure that my tank cant hold much more (if anything) as of now, my water tests great (drop test, not strips) I really want to add a coral beauty (no more fish after) I am just curious as to if this is a good idea or not. |

Welcome!
I think you could do the coral beauty. How long has the tank been up and running?

First off welcome to salt water, as you will find the change from fresh to salt is huge lol! Well your blue damsels could cause an issue as they get older they get aggresive but not always the case. Also 44 gallons is a great starter tank i started with a 40B and love it still have it up and running. Just so you have an idea in my 40 there is a pair of snowflake clowns, yellow watchmen goby, Banggai cardinal, and a Yellow & Purple Wrasse. Thats all for fish so not really a huge space for fish but you can load it up with coral! To the last questions depends on who you ask from what ive read and seen, tank is much to small. they need a large area about 70 gallons, but some people say they will do fine in a 35 gallon its all what you think. IMO they are active swimmers and can get territorial with age so i would say to swing towards a different fish!
