Cupramine for 2 weeks or a month?

Anyone run it for longer than 2 weeks and if so, why?

I keep new fish in Cupramine (at about .40ppm) for at least 4 weeks. The bottle says 2 weeks; but that isn't even one life cycle for many parasites, especially ich. I think my next fish will be 6 weeks.

i wouldnt push more than 2 x the recommendation treatment time. Seachem says 0.5 for 2 weeks i wouldnt push 0.5 more than 4 weeks.
copper can damage liver and cause stress for fish.

Thanks. Was asking as Tusk mentioned doing 6 weeks in Post #2. Wasn't sure if I was misunderstanding it or not.

But in your opinion 4 weeks at full (.5) and then doing WC's and Carbon to reduce over the 5th week, is perfectly OK?

Tusk uses less copper strength thus u can increase time. but my recommendation would be IF AT 0.5 then 4 weeks at most.
Yes after 4 weeks of full strength you can use water changes or carbon or curasorb to reduce copper to 0.

So which is the best option if the two primary goals are to (1) ensure complete eradication of Ich and (2) consider the safety of the fish as much as possible?
(a) 3 weeks of .5ppm Cupramine
(b) 4 weeks of .5ppm Cupramine
(c) 4 weeks of .4ppm Cupramine
(d) 5 weeks of .4ppm Cupramine
(e) 6 weeks of .4ppm Cupramine

Hopefully I'm not overthinking this, but I want to make sure I get my procedures down flat now since about to start things off for the first time. I have no problem extending to 6 weeks IF it is safe for the fish. I am confident that after having done Hypo for the last 2.5 years that my current 450g DT is Ich-free; now that I am switching QT procedures I am paranoid as anything!
