Lionfish are ambush predators, anything that swims near them and can fit in their mouth is in jeopardy of being consumed.
In addition I'd advise reading this... http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-11/ss/index.php

It's worth consideration... not all have the same reaction as the author. On that same point...
http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-1...ture/index.php And there also is one on the various types of lionfish and their need requirements (including the fu manchu)... http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-1...ture/index.php

Seems like it will eat peppermint and red line shrimp if there small enough?

It will essentially eat anything it can get it's mouth around that moves. If you keep it really well fed it might leave the other livestock alone, but it's a gamble. It also poses the problem of ending up with nutrient rich water as they are messy feeders, eat a lot, and poop a lot. IIRC, your tank is 100 gallons correct? That might help mitigate the pollution from a small lionfish. Personally, though, if you want a mixed reef, I wouldn't chance it.

the words community tank and lion fish do not go together and as the others have said it will eat anything it can fit it its mouth.
