I am at a loss with trying to ID this algae
I'm not sure what it is, algae or could be a type of cyano!
It is bright green and is somewhat velvet texture. It starts as a small spec and spreads very easy. I have a few specs on my sand bed and if I'm not on top of it, it will start to cover the sand (about a week). It will do the same on the rocks. It is easily blown off with a power head. It will grow in high or low flow areas. All my parameters are perfect. Hanna Phosphate test = 0, nitrates 0 reading. Alk-3 meg/l, Cal-440, Ph-8 Here's a pic, notice small specs on sand as well... Nothing will eat it! ![]() |

Looks like turf algae. Get an urchin or 2. They love the stuff.

+1 Cyano. It's vibrant color and ease of removal suggests this. I'd just suck it out with some airline tubing.
