Using U-T5-2/39HO SUNPARK ballast for 80w bulb?
I have a 12 light 72" fixture with 6 U-T5-2/39HO SUNPARK ballasts running 12 39w bulbs (2 39w bulbs per ballast). Is there a way to tap the wires to make the ballasts push 80w on one 60" T5HO bulb?

Are you wanting to retro 60" bulbs in it?

Hello, yes, looks easy enough to retrofit. All I need to do is remove the two inner end cap brackets, close in the outter end caps to fit the 60" bulbs. Only issue is getting new ballasts, which I hoped I could save $$ on by making/using one of the 39w x 2 ballasts into a single 80w ballast like you can with icecap ballasts and such.
All I would need to do then is put in 6 12v relays that run to 6 timers which will give me full control of the amount of lighting I want/need. Dusk to dawn type of effect not to mention power savings without going to LED's........yuck! |
