Need skimmer suggestion compact space
I recently replaced my sump over the weekend. The skimmer I am using is an older style venturi skimmer. I am not sure on the technicial aspects of these skimmers compared to needle wheel skimmer but I do notice the bubbles are not as fine as needle wheel skimmers. My problem is space. I only have a 10" x 8" space in my sump. Are there any suggestions people can recommend for this space. tank is 175 gallons with approx. 30 gallons in the sump. Cost is not an issue. I just want to get a good skimmer and be done.

Or should I just replace the mag pump with a waterblaster needle wheel pump?

How big is your skimmer compartment? That can determine the skimmer size. You can check into the Reef Octopus POV series.

10" deep and 8" wide is MAX. I have plenty of height.

The Cadlights PLS-200 will fit, no idea how well it will perform though as it is a brand new, untested skimmer.

I bought the Magus Curve 7. The Curve 5 might fit and would probably be enough skimmer.
