URGENT HELP PLEASE !!! Fish starved

Hi guys,

I need urgent help.
the story continues or just part of the original post where I was wandering about strong flow from my powerheads.
Since they been running my blenny wasn't behaving as usual, he was hiding in the corner or I should say only sitting on the bottom of the tank as there is no hiding place there and I think he was hiding from the water flow, not sure, but now it became worse as I've been noticing and today I distracted him just to see what's going on and here we go he was barely swimming and his stomach is just flat, so I have switched of the strong powerheads and tried to give him some seaweed but he doesn't seem to be accepting it, I've moved him into a quiet place in tank with seaweed next to him but no luck so far.

Anything you could suggest PLEASE !!!

Thank you

Soak your food with garlic or selcon it helps. Let see if your fish eats or not.

If you think the flow is the problem, try taking a powerhead out or moving the direction or something ?
Are you sure the fish arnt sick ? No sign of Ich or anything like that?

hi guys, thanks for replies.

I feed the blenny with seaweed with garlick bought specifically for him and I have fair bit of algae so he has plenty on his plate.
not sure if he would be sick but 2 clowns are fine. he seems to be bit darker but its probably because he is so skinny that all his dark areas came together to make him look darker. i just read on one site that blennies like to starve in captivity so not sure what to think. I have switched off two powerheads so only one is on at the moment. I left him near the LR and now I can't see him, probably looking for quiet spot to die.

anyone anything please advise.

thanks

you could take a shot at soaking your food in fish oil. Get the caplets from the "vitamin" store. It might be more enticing than selcon or garlic.
What follows is NOT a scientific explanation, but my understanding of one. When humans starve our body eventualyl kind of shuts down the digestion process, and we get to where we're not really "hungry". If a body gets to that point, food has to be reintroduced slowly, or it causes problems. I don't have any idea if this happens with fish, but if the fish was truly starving, it may be in the process of re-regulating its digestive system, and its body may be "smart enough" to force him to eat slowly and not gorge. Someone with some real expertise may chime in, but I might consider careful observation to see if he's eating at all as opposed to not eating voraciously.
