Pumps for reactor

I' setting ups 3 reactors for carbon, GFO and Bio pellets, I'm using Vertex 1.5 reactors, and was looking for recommendations on pumps for them. I could also run them off my return pump Red Dragon 3 Mini Speedy, but thought I'd like to keep them separate, any thoughts?

get a 3 stage reactor like the ones from BRS or spectrapure. then you only need one pump. you can run them off a small powerhead like a MJ1200,
otherwise, just run a manifold off your return instead of having an individual pump for each reactor.

In my opinion you don't want to have the dual reactor like that.. The different media needs different flow rates so it isn't the best functioning if you want to get the most out of it.. I'd say either use your return pump or a separate pump and make a manifold with 4 outlets all valves on the end.. That way it's a lot cleaner fully functional and you have an extra outlet for later or to drain the sump..

FWIW spectrapure makes a dual reactor that's better than the brs one you can adjust the containers individually and one is an up flow and the other is a download to use the media the way other reactors do.. A lot cleaner and it has a single in and a single out.. I bought one for my new build but haven't used it yet so I can't tell you with certainty it's a quality unit.. But it overcomes the thing everybody says is wrong with the BRS/marine depot dual reactors with individual flow control..

I looked at the Spectapure unit, very nice, does it use standard size RODI cartridges or are they smaller?

Does the Spectrapure have sponges in the cartridge to prevent carbon from tumbling?
