Can u run gfo and carbon when first cycleing

I'm just started my 65 gallon tank I have live sand and 2 dead shrimp in the tank for bout 2 weeks now. I'm putting my live rock in tomorrow and was wondering if I should hook up my BRS gfo and carbon reactor up also. What do u think extremely new to this thank you
