75 Gallon on the Second Floor.

I know this question has been asked before and I know I am not the last person to ask it, so I guess I'll just come out and say it, Will my floor hold my tank? I am a broke 21 year old still living at home and my mother is worried sick that any fish tank (even something as small as a 20 gallon) will burst through her floor and fall into the basement. If I upgrade my 55 to a 75 what are the chances of this happening?

My stand that I will be using will be flat and evenly spread out across the entire footprint (no legs, just one flat rectangle) Any input or opinions are appreciated!

Yes, it will hold. We had a 75 gallon in the loft of our condo. Even when a floor can't hold a tank, it's not like it falls through the floor; the joists sag beyond an acceptable limit.

You should be fine. Think of it as 3 fat guys standing next to each other .

3 fat guys don't stand next to each other on the same floor joist for 10 years without moving. Bad comparison.

I agree though, a 75 should be relatively safe in most reasonable construction.
