Bio pellets
What type of bio pellets should I get for my reactor. And does it need it's own pump? I was thinking about running bio pellet reactor, uv sanitizer, then carbon reactor with 1 pump

I like the bulkreefsupply.com branded bio pellets. You will need a feed pump unless you have a manifold set up from your return pump.

If you want to just use 1 pump make a manifold as stated, dont run them in series in the order you have it or the carbon will clog very fast from the bacteria from the pellets.

Warner marine ecobak is what I use, also IMO I would not use a uv sterilizer with bio pellets.

is there really a difference in the different brands of biopellets?
i use tlf brand and would like to get some inputs of other brands as well. i run it with a manifold. had cyano until i put the output of the biopellet reactor directly into the skimmer. i also run uv, very low flow going through it to have max contact time. only using it to keep the ick under control. |

I know you probably 'want' this but do you really need it? BP reactor is a tricky tool to use. I would suggest start with vinegar dosing if you want to go this route but again you should clearly understand why you are doing it. Is it good or bad for your system? And yes it could be really really bad. GL!
